Rev. Clyde L. Doxey Jr., is the son of the late, Clyde L. Doxey, Sr. and Evelyn Doxey, the eldest of eight children and grandson of Rev. Moses Reid. He is a 1989 honor-graduate, Cum Laude, from Norfolk State University, and holds a BA degree in Psychology. Rev. Doxey is a 1993 graduate of the Evans-Smith Leadership Training Institute with a Certificate in Religious Studies. He has attended Virginia Union University in pursuit of a Master’s degree in theology.
Rev. Doxey served in the United States Marine Corps for three years, and qualified as a Paratrooper in Germany. Rev. Doxey was licensed in the ministry January 24, 1993, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he served as an associate minister and the chairman of the New Members Committee. He was ordained in the ministry in November 2001, at Gideon’s Riverside Fellowship in Norfolk, Virginia. He is presently retired from a Civil Service Employment as an Engineering Technician at NOB, Norfolk Va. Rev. Doxey is the founder of the organization A.B.S.T.A.I.N., which is designed to give today’s youth an alternative to violence and other inappropriate behaviors.
Rev. Doxey is married to the lovely Cynthia Powell Doxey and to this blessed union was born three children: Cory, Catrina, and CJ. Also added to the family tree are two daughters-in-law: Rashanda and Erin. Five beautiful granddaughters: Khayla, Kiah, Khimani, Kaci, and Kaelyn; and two handsome grandsons: Chanson and Clyde L. Doxey, IV.
